credit market professional

Oslo

Credit trader to Group Treasury, Fixed Income & FX

You will be involved in managing Nordea’s investment risk and will be responsible for a separate focus area in the Fixed Income & FX section. Your base will ideally be in Copenhagen and you will have a key role in building up a new trading mandate within risk premium markets. Our new credit trader will focus on opportunistic position-taking in non-complex credit products primarily in European markets. You will also contribute to the management of relevant fixed-income investment and liquidity portfolios. And you will obviously provide input on credit market developments to be used in internal market discussions and presentations.

You will be expected to deliver an attractive return on your own individual risk mandate. The mandate will cover both credit spread, interest rate and FX risk measured in line with Nordea’s market risk framework (interest-rate and credit-spread sensitivity plus value-at-risk on each risk type). The mandate will be focused on utilising investment opportunities within an active trading culture where targets for risk-adjusted profit and stop-loss management are important.

Ambition is to deliver strong economic results with satisfied employees

Being part of the biggest bank in the Nordic region we should be acknowledged for our competence and our ability to contribute to Nordea’s superior performance and shareholder value creation. Our ambition is to create a high, attractive absolute return on our investment activities operating in a best-in-class framework. We also aim at supporting other units and management with professional input and solutions based on our knowledge about and presence in financial markets. Delivering on these ambitions should foster satisfied and highly motivated employees who enjoy and are proud of what they do.

Independent drive to achieve results

You have some years’ hands-on risk management experience from the financial sector trading credit market products – primarily corporate bonds, floating rate notes, swaps and credit default swaps – and experience with the Bloomberg system. You have strong analytical skills that you are used to apply to credit markets. Perhaps you have some knowledge of technical analysis. You have a Master’s degree in finance, mathematics or econometrics.

It will be an advantage if you also have experience with structured credits, emerging markets or equities.

As a person you are ambitious, result-orientated and have a strong drive to succeed as an individual within a team. Excellent command of spoken and written English is a prerequisite.

Send your application no later than 17 November 2009 by using our electronic application form.

We plan to conduct interviews in weeks 48-50.
